Since 2016, Tyree has served as managing partner of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., one of the largest private investment banks in the United States, which he joined in 1985 as a corporate lending officer in the Private Banking division.
Over the course of a career spanning nearly four decades, he has helped guide the firm through significant industry changes and global expansions. He was named a partner in 2001 and spent eight years as the global head of BBH's Investor Services business and 16 years leading the Treasury & Markets Division. He currently chairs the firm's executive committee and is a member of its finance committee.
Tyree is chairman of the board of trustees for The Boys' Club of New York, a 140-year-old social service organization serving over 3,000 boys and young men in New York City. He also serves on the boards of the Appalachian Mountain Club, the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Foundation, the Gladys & Roland Harriman Foundation, and numerous community clubs and organizations in New York City and Long Island.
He majored in English at Dartmouth and went on to earn an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He and his wife, Kathryn George, have three children, Brophy '18, Hutch '21, and Didi '23.
