Jeffrey ("Jeff") Crowe is Managing Partner of Norwest Venture Partners, a Bay Area venture firm with over $6 billion under management that invests in early stage technology and health care companies. He joined Norwest in 2004 and focuses on investments in the internet, consumer and software arenas. Having sat on over 20 private and public company boards, Mr. Crowe has been named to the Forbes Midas List of the top 100 venture investors for six consecutive years.
Prior to Norwest, Mr. Crowe held multiple executive roles at Bay Area technology companies. He was co-founder and CEO of Edify Corporation, a venture backed software company that he led through its IPO. He also held president, general manager and marketing roles at DoveBid, IBM, Siemens and ROLM.
Mr. Crowe currently serves as trustee at Dartmouth College, where he graduated summa cum laude. He co-founded and continues to host the annual Dartmouth Entrepreneurs Forum in San Francisco and also serves as the founding Chair of the Advisory Board for Dartmouth's Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship. In the past, Mr. Crowe has served on the Alumni Council and on the Executive Committee of the Association of Alumni at Dartmouth. He has been a regional leader in recruiting and interviewing activities for Dartmouth for multiple decades.
Mr. Crowe holds an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He lectures on entrepreneurship and venture capital at the GSB and has served on the school's Management Board.
Mr. Crowe has served on the board of directors of the National Venture Capital Association, based in Washington D.C. He is past chairman of the board of Hand in Hand Parenting, a non-profit organization focused on strengthening families, where he was the founding chair and served for 27 years. He is also past chairman of the board of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, an award winning regional theatre company.
He lives in Atherton, California with his wife Amy Crowe. They have three daughters, Laura '08, Katherine '10 and Molly '15.
